About Five Star Finds
We present products that work, the Five Star Finds of the market.
Five Star Finds began in August 2005 as one person's answer to a small, familiar frustration: buying something, getting it home, and discovering it does not do what it said it would.
Donna Sieg wrote every recommendation here — 426 of them between 2005 and 2008 — after doing the research herself. The site is being brought back, and the standard has not changed.
In her words, 2005
Here you will find products that work; that do what they say they will do.
How many times have you made a purchase only to find out once you've used it that it doesn't do what it is suppose to do. Sometime it doesn't even come close! How disappointing is that! Not only have you wasted time and money in its purchase, but now you are back to square one and still do not have a product that performs well. How can you get the product that does what you want and not spend any more money or time on the "duds" of the world?
We have done all the product research for you. You will find products that are award winners in their field and have been featured as outstanding in industry literature. Many have been tested and highly approved by friends and family and they have shared their experiences with us. We have used many of these products ourselves and found them to be great performers.
These are not bargains in the sense that they are inexpensive; some are, some are not. They are bargains in that they work and you will not need to go out and find a replacement because what you just bought is a lemon. The products that we feature have been thoroughly researched and are presented in good faith as the best available product of its type. Sometimes there is no product that works as well as it should and you will not find it here.

How this site makes money
Some links here are Amazon affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission when you buy through them. It costs you nothing extra, and it has never determined what gets recommended. Products that do not earn their five stars simply do not appear.
About the archive
Every recommendation published between 2005 and 2008 is preserved here exactly as written. Some of the retailers linked back then no longer exist, and some products have been discontinued — those links are left in place as part of the record. Amazon links have been rebuilt to point at the same products today.
